Product information "ECV3-10-IDC-STDC14 · 10-pin Edge-Connect to STDC14"
Short description
Edge-Connect™ cable with ten contacts at the board edge, terminating in the STDC14 header — the 14-pin connector on ST's STLINK-V3 and STLINK-V3MINI debuggers. Carries JTAG and SWD.
Technical data
- Board side: ECV3-10 Edge-Connect™, 10 contacts
- Debugger side: 14-pin 0.05″ IDC, female (STDC14, FTSH-107 style)
- Protocols: JTAG and SWD
- Castellation pitch: 1.27 mm
- Required on the target board: one non-plated locating hole
What you need it for
Edge-Connect places the contacts on the edge of the board rather than on its surface. The target board needs no mating connector at all — just the plated half-holes along the edge and one hole for location.
Ten contacts instead of six mean JTAG is available, not only SWD. If you drive a chain of several devices, or depend on trace signals, this is the version you need.
How the pins map
The STDC14 has fourteen pins, the board side ten contacts. The mapping is straightforward but offset:
- STDC14 pins 3 to 12 map to ECV3-10 pins 1 to 10
- STDC14 pins 1, 2, 13 and 14 are not connected
- As a formula: ECV3-10 pin n sits on STDC14 pin n + 2
Worth knowing before you put a scope on it or trace a signal by hand — otherwise you count from the wrong end.
Compatible debuggers
STLINK-V3SET · STLINK-V3 · STLINK-V3MINI — each for ST STM32 via JTAG and SWD on the ST-14 connector
Included
Cable with Edge-Connect™ connector and IDC header. The demo PCB shown in the manufacturer's photos is not included and is ordered separately.
Variants
ECV3-06-CTX-STDC14 — six contacts at the board edge, also on STDC14, SWD only. ECV3-10-IDC — 10-pin 0.1″ header. ECV3-10-IDC-050 — ten pins on a 0.05″ pitch.
If all fourteen pins are needed on the target board, the ECV3-14-IDC is the cable for it. We do not hold it in stock — ask us and we will source it.
