Product information "ECV3-06-CTX-STDC14 · 6-pin Edge-Connect to STDC14"
Short description
Edge-Connect™ cable with six contacts at the board edge, terminating in the STDC14 header — the 14-pin 1.27 mm (0.05″) connector on ST's STLINK-V3 and STLINK-V3MINI debuggers.
Connections
| Side | Pins | Connector | Pitch |
|---|---|---|---|
| Board (Tag-Connect) | 6 | Edge contacts ECV3-06 (Edge-Connect™) | 1.27 mm (0.05″) |
| Debugger | 14 | Socket STDC14 (FTSH-107 style), 2 × 7 | 1.27 mm (0.05″) |
Pin assignment: TC2030 1–6 to STDC14 3, 4, 6, 8, 12, with GND on 5 and 7 — the full table is in the "Technical data" tab.
Compatible: ST-LINK V3, V3MINI and V3SET, and other debuggers with a 14-pin 1.27 mm connector (STDC14, FTSH-107 style).
Not, or not directly, compatible
- 20-pin, 2 × 10, 2.54 mm (0.1″) — ARM connector, e.g. SEGGER J-Link, Keil ULINK, ST-LINK/V2: through the adapter board COLL-ARM20-14P-050
- 10-pin, 2 × 5, 1.27 mm (0.05″) — Cortex connector, e.g. Keil ULINK2: ECV3-06-CTX
- 6-pin, 2 × 3, 2.54 mm (0.1″): ECV3-06-IDC
Easily confused: The ST-LINK/V2 and the older ST-LINKs carry a 20-pin 2.54 mm connector, not this one.
Technical data
- Protocol: SWD
- Required on the target board: one non-plated locating hole
What you need it for
Edge-Connect places the contacts on the edge of the board rather than on its surface. The target board needs no mating connector at all — just the plated half-holes along the edge and one hole for location.
The fourteen pins on the STLINK-V3 carry more than SWD requires. This cable picks up the signals SWD needs and brings six of them to the edge of your board.
If you work with the STLINK-V3
With the STLINK-V3, ST moved to the STDC14 — a 14-pin header on a 1.27 mm (0.05″) pitch. The older ST-LINK/V2 carries the 20-pin 2.54 mm (0.1″) connector instead. Both attach to the same STM32, but they need different cables.
So check the debugger, not the processor: a narrow 14-pin header with 1.27 mm pin spacing means this cable.
In use with these devices
STLINK-V3SET · STLINK-V3 · STLINK-V3MINI — each for ST STM32 via SWD on the ST-14 connector
What counts is the connector, not the device name: compare the connector on your device with the table above. If it carries a different one, the route goes through an adapter board.
Included
Cable with Edge-Connect™ connector and IDC header. The demo PCB shown in the manufacturer's photos is not included and is ordered separately.
Variants
ECV3-06-CTX — same board side, but a 10-pin Cortex header. ECV3-10-IDC-STDC14 — ten contacts at the board edge, also on STDC14.
If all fourteen pins are needed on the target board, the ECV3-14-IDC is the cable for it. We do not hold it in stock — ask us and we will source it.
On connector numbering: Why the six-pin Tag-Connect counts differently

Pin assignment
| STDC14 | Signal | ECV3-06 |
|---|---|---|
| 3 | T_VCC | 1 |
| 4 | T_SWDIO | 2 |
| 5 | GND | 5 |
| 6 | T_SWCLK | 4 |
| 7 | GND | 5 |
| 8 | T_SWO | 6 |
| 12 | T_NRST | 3 |
Not connected: 1, 2 (reserved by ST), 9 (T_JRCLK), 10 (T_JTDI), 11 (GNDDETECT), 13, 14 (Virtual COM Port).
Two counts that are easily confused: the ribbon at the STDC14 connector has ten conductors and contacts pins 3 to 12 there. Six of those signals reach the six-contact footprint, seven with the bridge for GNDDetect. The remaining conductors end at the connector.
Pin assignment as specified by the manufacturer.
