Short description
14-pin Plug-of-Nails™ cable without legs and with a 14-pin 1.27 mm (0.05″) IDC connector — all 14 pins connected. Plugs straight into the STDC14 port of ST-LINK V3, V3SET and V3MINI and brings the ST-LINK's Virtual COM Port to the board alongside SWD and JTAG.
All 14 pins — why it matters
The STDC14 connector of the ST-LINK V3 carries the ARM Cortex debug port (SWD, JTAG, SWO, reset) on pins 3 to 12 and the Virtual COM Port UART on pins 13 and 14. Tag-Connect's 6- and 10-pin STDC14 cables carry only the debug part. This cable takes all 14 lines to the TC2070 footprint — if you want the target's console through the ST-LINK, this is the one.
No legs
The TC2070-NL footprint needs 14 contact pads and three holes for the alignment pins, no latch holes. The cable does not hold itself: a thumb is enough for programming by hand; for a lasting connection there is the TC2070-IDC-050 with legs.
The connector on the debugger
14 pins, 2 × 7, 1.27 mm — the STDC14 of the ST-LINK V3. Not the 20-pin ARM connector at 2.54 mm (ST-LINK/V2, standard J-Link); for that there is the COLL-ARM20-14P-050 adapter board, which converts STDC14 to 20-pin ARM.
Smaller footprints
If you do not need the Virtual COM Port, less board space will do: TC2050-IDC-NL-050-STDC14 (10-pin, full debug port) or TC2030-CTX-NL-STDC14 (6-pin, SWD).
