Product information "ECV3-14-2AP-IDC · 14-pin Edge-Connect to 2.54 mm (0.1″) IDC"
Short description
14-pin Edge-Connect™ with two guide pins, terminating in a 2.54 mm (0.1″) IDC header — the classic ribbon connector on a 2.54 mm pitch.
Connections
| Side | Pins | Connector | Pitch |
|---|---|---|---|
| Board (Tag-Connect) | 14 | Edge contacts ECV3-14 (Edge-Connect™), two alignment pins | 1.27 mm (0.05″) |
| Debugger | 14 | Socket, 2 × 7 | 2.54 mm (0.1″) |
Pin assignment: contact n is on connector pin n, the cable is wired 1:1 — the full table is in the "Technical data" tab.
Compatible: debuggers with a 14-pin 2.54 mm pin header.
Not, or not directly, compatible
- 14-pin, 2 × 7, 1.27 mm (0.05″): ECV3-14-2AP-IDC-050
- 14-pin, 2 × 7, 2 mm: ECV3-14-2AP-IDC-2MM
- 20-pin, 2 × 10, 1.27 mm (0.05″) — Cortex with trace, e.g. Keil ULINK Pro: ECV3-14-2AP-ETM
What you need it for
Edge-Connect places the contacts on the edge of the board rather than on its surface. The target board needs no mating connector at all — just the plated half-holes along the edge and the holes for the guide pins. That saves space and the cost of a component on every board you build.
What "2AP" means
Two guide pins instead of one. The connector cannot be seated askew and stays reproducible over repeated cycles. Tag-Connect recommends this version for all new designs using the 14-pin Edge-Connect.
Compatibility, important
ECV3 is the third generation and is not compatible with the earlier Edge-Connect families. If you are working with an older board, you need the older cable — both remain available.
Included
Cable with Edge-Connect™ connector and IDC header. The demo PCB shown in the manufacturer's photos is not included.
The family at a glance
All four versions share the same board side. What differs is only the header at the debugger:
| Article | Debugger side |
|---|---|
| ECV3-14-2AP-IDC | 14-pin, 2.54 mm (0.1″) |
| ECV3-14-2AP-IDC-050 | 14-pin, 1.27 mm (0.05″) |
| ECV3-14-2AP-IDC-2MM | 14-pin, 2 mm |
| ECV3-14-2AP-ETM | 20-pin Cortex-20, with trace |
So it is your debugger that decides, not your board. If in doubt, measure the pin spacing on your programmer.
