Clip and grip are included once each, for comparison. They can only be reordered as three-packs (TC2050-CLIP-3PACK, GRIP-10).
Why the cable without legs
Because the clip only fits that one. It grips the three alignment pins from underneath, and those exist only on the no-legs footprint — the legged cable holds itself and needs none. If you prefer the legged version, it is the TC2050-IDC; what separates the two is explained at length on both pages.
Two retainers, two ways
Clip and grip solve the same task differently — the clip holds harder, the polymer grip brings no risk of shorting on the underside of the board. Which one suits depends on what is down there, so the set contains both for you to compare on your own assembly.
Who this is for
For the first footprint of your own. You put the pattern into your layout, check it against the demo board, programme with the cable and hang it on the debugger you already own via the adapter. After that you know whether access without a connector works for your boards — from your own experience rather than from a datasheet.

Ten-pin debug and programming cable with spring pins, without legs — the smallest debug access a board can have: ten contact pads and three holes, nothing else. At the other end a standard 2.54 mm (0.1″) ribbon header.
